These are the people that make up Living Landscapes and a little information about them, including most importantly how they like their brews!


Andy Offord: Partner

Andy graduated from the University of Bath with an Honours Degree in Horticulture in 1983, specialising in amenity horticulture. With a background in commercial horticulture, having grown up on a market garden, and with over 6 years spent in retail management working for Hurrans Garden Centres, Andy, with his wife Alison, set up Living Landscapes in 1989. After starting up the business, within 12 months he set about building his own house. Now, with over 30 years of practical landscaping experience as well, Andy can find a solution to most landscaping or gardening problems!


Alison Offord: Partner

Alison, married to Andy for more than 30 years now, started her working life at Dowty in Gloucester before moving to work for the Halifax Building Society. During the early years of the business, Alison spent a lot of her time working on the market garden side of the business, as well as looking after the administration. Working part time in the business now, she goes out on the gazebo and car port installations that Living Landscapes undertake for Jagram/ Live Outside.  


Chris King: Landscape Manager

Chris started his working life on a fruit farm before progressing to Hurrans Garden Centres. He was managing the shrub department at their Churchdown branch when Andy offered him a position at Living Landscapes in 1990. Armed with a good working knowledge of plants Chris went on to develop his construction skills working with Andy. After 18 years with Living Landscapes Chris took the decision to go out on his own. Due to changes in his personal life, Chris rejoined Living Landscapes in 2014 and is now responsible for day to day management of the teams. Chris has a fine eye for detail and always ensures that projects are finished to the highest standard.


Mike Howells: Skilled Landscaper

Mike first joined Living Landscapes from a manufacturing environment.He started in 2006 but left after just over a year to return to his old employer.  The pull was too strong though and he rejoined us in 2011 to enjoy the delights of creating gardens once more. Mike is multi-skilled and capable in all the various aspects of garden construction. His work is always of the highest standard.  
 

Ryan Morgan: Landscaper

Ryan joined us in 2013 as an apprentice. He attended Holme Lacy college to train in tree surgery, successfully completing the course. Since then Ryan has been building up his landscaping experience and has become accomplished in many of the skills required in the landscape industry.

 

Alex Braithwaite: Landscaper

Alex started with us in November 2017, having relocated from Chippenham to the Forest of Dean. He has had over 10 years of experience in the landscape industry. Known to the lads as 'Bert', much of his previous work was in garden maintenance and soft landscaping, however his hard landscaping experience is building rapidly (no pun intended!).

Matt Hill: Landscaper

Matt became one of the team in February 2020. He has previously worked as a labourer and groundworker for another landscaping company, he is keen to develop his landscaping skills further. Outside of work he is a keen footballer so enjoys even more fresh air and exercise at the weekend.


Jack Badham: Landscaper

Jack joined our crew in February 2020. Having spent the last two years working in a warehouse he is keen to get back outside and enjoy the fresh air!Jack has previously worked as a gardener, and also spent time as a labourer. He likes to keep active, with walking, running, football and going to the gym on his his list of activities!


Phil Boswell: Gardener

Phil undertakes our routine garden maintenance rounds. He is usually the one mowing lawns and tending borders.  He joined us in August 2014, a complete career change for him as he was previously a prison nurse! Over his first full season working in our clients gardens Phil has gained quite a number of fans. More than he's likely to have outside of work- Phil is a football referee in his spare time!

Chris Hale: Shop Manager

Chris started with us in 2007 and is responsible for running the retail side of our business: The Watershed Paving and Aquatic Centre and The Petshed. Chris worked in retail in Gloucester before joining us when our shop was in Staunton. He was part of the team that relocated The Watershed and Staunton Stone over to Hereford. He has an excellent knowledge of the products we stock and is happy to give advice if you do call in to see him.
